G.Balachandran is a Senior Professor of the World Community Service Centre, a voluntary organization working for world peace through spiritual upliftment of individuals. He is associated with the Organisation for about 30 years. He has been serving the Organisation full time on voluntary basis since the year 2000 working directly with the founder, Thathvagnani Vethathiri Maharishi.
He is Joint Secretary of World Community Service Centre and Secretary of World Community Service Centre – Delhi Zone having the primary responsibility of spreading this knowledge in the States north of the four Southern States of India and to spread it internationally. He is also functioning as Joint Director of the Directorate of Extension of WCSC and as a member of VISION, the Educational wing of WCSC.
He has been teaching the system at the main Ashram as well as in other parts of India and abroad covering 20 countries across the Globe including the Middle East, Far East, Europe and North America. He was instrumental in establishing new Meditation Centers in more than 10 countries, thus spreading the message of Maharishi far and wide.
Prof. Balachandran holds a Master’s Degree in Statistics and has a Diploma in Educational Planning from University of London, U.K. He was a member of the Indian Statistical Service (I.S.S), (A Technical wing of Indian Civil Service) and has served in the Federal Ministries of Planning, Agriculture and Human Resource Development in India and in the Ministry of Health abroad. He took voluntary retirement from the Government service as Joint Director in the year 2000 and joined the Ashram with his wife for full time spiritual service.
His Team was selected as “Ambassadors for World Peace” by the Universal Peace Foundation of South Korea. His Team has conducted Human Excellence Programs, conferences and seminars travelling round the globe.
