Trathen Heckman


Trathen Heckman is the founding director of Daily Acts Organization, the Board President of Transition U.S. and a backyard farmer. With an emphasis on reverence for life, Trathen inspires and collaborates with communities and leaders to harness the power of nature and inspired action to restore the vitality of our lives and communities. Trathen has given oodles of presentations, locally, nationally and internationally, produces an award-winning journal and has received several environmental awards. Under his guidance, in 2010 Daily Acts was chosen Sonoma County’s Outstanding Environmental Education Program and received the Leadership Institute’s Leadership in Sustainability Award. He lives in the Petaluma River Watershed where he grows food, medicine and wonder while working to compost apathy and lack.
